Qala’s Local Council, which holds a PL majority, will be appealing the controversial development of a Villa in an out of development zone (ODZ), in Qala itself.

In a statement, Partit Laburista stated that the Planning Authority’s decisions are autonomous, so much so that Qala’s Local Council will be appealing the decision.

Partit Nazzjonalista (PN) stated that seven PA members whom were chosen by Government, backed up the development permit.

In a statement, PN describes the vote as “scandalous” and “ensured the legacy of Joseph Muscat”. It added that the Opposition’s representative Marthese Portelli together with three other members voted against the project.

Partit Laburista responded that the Minister for Infrastructure Ian borg himself requested a revision of the current proposal.
