Tista' taqra bil- Malti.
On the 10th December (the day that Għajnsielem celebrates Locality Day), a unique Christmas tree made from a 60-foot-tall iron structure and with over 4500 glass bottles was officially inaugurated.
The size of this tree, which is dedicated to the heroes and victims of Covid-19, perfectly fits with its location in front of the Għajnsielem parish church.
The attraction is being financed by the Għajnsielem Local Council together with the Ministry of Gozo and the Cultural Heritage Directorate. Several volunteers who are usually busy at Bethlehem f’Għajnsielem, which this year was cancelled due to the pandemic, gave a helping hand whilst the residents also gave their part by donating the used glass bottles.
The tree was officially inaugurated by Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri together with Mayor Kevin Cauchi and the local councilors. One can easily admire this tree simply by driving around the village centre.
