Following several reports stating that there are holes in Ramla Road in Nadur showing that it is hollow from underneath, works seem to have begun to correct this hazard.

Gozo Minister Justyne Caruana posted photos of the works on her Facebook page, complimenting all the Ministry’s employees for their work.

Nadur’s Mayor Edward Said had told Newsbook.com.mt that the road presented a dangerous hazard for drivers.

Following this complaint, a spokesperson for the Ministry for Gozo told Newsbook.com.mt that the Ministry took immediate action “once it was informed” about the incident. “An urgent meeting was called and the road is now closed for traffic. We will now leave it up to experts to analyse and solve the problem,” the spokesperson added.

A spokesperson for Infrastructure Malta had told Newsbook.com.mt that “the indicated road’s maintenance falls under the responsibility of another entity.”
