Prime Minister Joseph Muscat inaugurated a new school in Wied il-Għajn. A statement explained it cost €6 million, and will be catering for 300 students and 37 educators over 6,000 square metres, with an underground car park of 2,000 square metres.
Muscat said during the inauguration that the opening of a new school is a significant day, a home for hundreds of students, and the first school built with facilities which reflect the true needs of a school.
Education Minister Evarist Bartolo said that, “this school in Marsaskala is the sixth new school we are opening in the last six years”, this apart from work on seven others. While thanking the Foundation for Tomorrow’s Schools, he said that the Foundation needs to be strengthened to properly tackle the work it has ahead.
