The Police have announced that persons have been arrested following a raid conducted yesterday, in which 65 kilos of cannabis was found.
It is believed the drugs were ready for trafficking.
Four men have been arrested by police including one Maltese, a Croatian and 2 Serbians. The Maltese man is 40 years old and from Qormi. He was found to be in possession of 17 kilos of cannabis plants hidden in his vehicle.
Police also raided a garage in Msida were a further 47 kilos of hashish were found, ready for trafficking.
A further bag containing a kilo of cannabis plants, a small amount of cannabis resin and small amount of a substance called magic mushrooms. The drugs were valued to be over € 17,000.
The three other men are a Croatian man of 42 years old and two Serbs 36 and 37 years, residing in Msida and Naxxar respectively.
The four arrested men are being held by police to assist in the ongoing investigations. Magistrate Simone Grech has appointed various experts to assist in the inquiry.
It is believed that some of the four arrested persons may be brought to court tomorrow on charges including association with hashish trafficking, trafficking and possession not exclusively for personal use and also on money laundering.
