Photo of two mice ‘fighting’ wins Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition

Sam Rowley

Photographer Sam Rowley captured the amazing picture of a pair of mice who seem to be boxing in a tube station in London to win the Natural History Museum in London’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition. It won the Wildlife Photographer of the Year’s People’s Choice Award, with about 28,000 public votes.

The photo was taken with a Nikon D500 camera and called ‘Station Squabble’. Rowley  said that the brawl: “lasted a split second, before one grabbed a crumb and they went their separate ways.”

Photographers from 100 countries submitted 48,000 entries for this year’s edition of the competition.

‘Station Squabble’ can be seen at the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at the Natural History Museum until the 31st May 2020.
