The crowned image of Our Virgin Mary will be part of the procession that will be going around Sliema on Sunday.

The procession will start at around 7.15pm and will go around streets that belong to the parish known as ‘Sacro Cuor’. The organisers said the statue is the fourth in the nation to be crowned and that the last crowning of a statue was in 1973 on the statue of The Nativity of Our Lady in Xagħra.

Pontifical Mass during the crowning on Saturday was celebrated by Archbishop Charles Scicluna who was assisted by the Bishop of Tripoli George Buġeja and other members of the clergy.
