People have laid flowers in front of Chris Pandolfino and Ivor Maciejowski’s home in Sliema, who were both killed in their home, on the 18th of August.

On Tuesday, a man believed by the police to be the ‘prime suspect’ in the double murder was arrested during a police raid in Floriana.

Police Commissioner Angelo Gafà held a crime conference in light of the development. He emphasised that investigations were at a delicate stage, and that he consequently was not in a position to reveal too many details – including on the identity of the suspect.

Gafà did confirm that so far, the police believe the motive to be theft as the assailants appear to have stolen gold jewellery.

The getaway vehicle used in the murder of Christian Pandolfino and Ivor Maciejowski was found in the multi-storey carpark next to St Luke’s Hospital, on Monday.

The car had been reported stolen two years ago, and it was bearing number plates stolen recently from another vehicle.
