Retired Assistant Secretary General and Nationalist Party’s ex-Treasurer Peter Darmanin recounted the way Civil Protection workers had to dismantle the balcony in order to carry his body out, as they couldn’t fit when using the stairs.
Darmanin recounted how he was in Marsalforn, when he spotted Police cars, members from the Civil Protection, and a police hearse. The word that an 80-year old man’s body was found spread like wildfire, but it was only later that he got to know that it was Patrick Miller.
Miller was a close friend of his, as they had worked closely with each other, and had spent whole summers swimming in Marsalforn. He went on to say that whoever knew Patrick knows that he was always a gentleman and that he was loved by everyone.
He explained that one of his main characteristics was that he was a stickler for discipline, and with a chuckle recounted how he had enforced a no-liquids rule. Darmanin concluded by asking everyone to utter a prayer for him.
