Irregular non-sanctionable property may be amended without paying the 25% surcharge for the next 12 months by the Planning Authority (PA).
The applicable fee is calculated over the total combined over area of each floor of the property forwarded for regularization.
In 2016, the Authority launched the regularization scheme to facilitate sale of irregular and unsanctionable idle property on the market.
The 8,155 validated submissions over the past two years generated a revenue of over €15.7 million.
Up to 70% of the funds collected go towards various initiatives such as Irrestawra Darek and 20% is allocated towards community improvement projects.
