This year’s edition of 103 Malta’s Heart 30-hour marathon in aid of Dar tal-Providenza has already exceeded last year’s total, with donations reaching €32,441. The final sum was announced Fr Martin Micallef, director of Dar tal-Providenza.
€12,710 had been raised in the 2019 edition of the fundraiser.
The marathon kicked off at 06:00h on Wednesday 30 December, with Arthur Caruana taking the lead, accompanied by Ron and Ian, two other well known presenters. Arthur faces 30 gruelling hours of broadcasting with most of the presenters lining up for most of the time.
The team expressed their satisfaction at the show of solidarity especially in such a year dominated by the pandemic.
Dar tal-Providenza hosts 115 inviduals and requires €5 million yearly to keep in operation.
The 30-hour marathon is the curtain raiser for Festa Ta Ġenerożita.
