Over 100 vehicles along with their drivers and passengers were stopped during a road safety operation in Gozo today.
Police from the Maltese traffic branch and officers from the Gozo district, carried out vehicle checks in Nadur, Xewkija and Rabat.
A number of people were stopped and fined for driving breaches, this included such offences as speeding, driving without a seat-belt on, without a valid driving licence or insurance policy and being overloaded.
No motorists were caught using a mobile phone. Newsbook.com.mt contacted the Maltese police and confirmed that no motorists were seen or stopped for this.
