Opposition Leader and Partit Nazzjonalista leader Bernard Grech and his wife AnneMarie have been placed under mandatory quarantine.
Announcing the news on Facebook, Grech explained that a student and a learning support educator at the school where Mrs Grech teaches, had tested positive for coronavirus.
The public health authorities have placed the Opposition leader and his wife under mandatory quarantine until 1 January.
Grech said that he will continue carrying out his work online.
He also took the opportunity to remind the public to continue abiding by the health authorities’ advice and to remain vigilant.
“During this festive season, let’s safeguard one another while remaining in contact with our loved ones,” Grech said.
Earlier this year, the Opposition leader was quarantined after his wife had contracted coronavirus.
