Open Arms saves 96 people in Maltese seas

Alarm Phone said that last night 96 people were rescued by the NGO Open Arms. The rescue occurred in Malta Search and Rescue zone. Non-profit organisation Alarm Phone tried to make contact with Maltese authorities.

There attempts were either not answered or the phone was hung up immediately Alarm Phone said on their Facebook page.

The NGO Open Arms intervened and went to the rescue of the people in the middle of the night.  

Open Arms confirmed that the people are now on board the ship and they are being provided with medical assistance.
