According to the latest NSO statistics, throughout 2018, one work-related death and 1,653 work-related injuries were reported.
The majority of work-related injuries occurred in the manufacturing industry, which totalled to 15.4% of all injuries. Following this, 15.1% of the injuries occurred on construction sites. Transport and logistical work make up the top four workplaces where workers injure themselves.
The main points which came out in the report are:
- Men injure themselves more then women
- Workers coming from the South of Malta reported more work-related injures
- 980 workers suffered superficial injuries.
