Omtzigt visit to Malta, Daphne’s murder on agenda

The Rapporteur of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Pieter Omtzigt has arrived in Malta on Wednesday to meet with Prime Minister Robert Abela.

Omtzigt has announced on Twitter his visit to Malta to discuss the murder case of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia and Malta’s judicial system with high authorities in Malta.

Apart from meeting with Prime Minister Robert Abela, Pieter Omtzigt is expected to hold talks with Finance Minister Edward Scicluna and Home Affairs Minister Byron Camilleri.

In his tweet, Pieter Omtzigt also mentioned that he is expected to meet with the family of assassinated journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.

Pieter Omtzigt will leave Malta on Friday.
