The Police Officers Union (POU) has stated that under current policies, police officers which test positive for Covid-19 will be suffering from an injustice, as their mandatory leave will be deducted from the officers’ regular sick-leave rather than from the newly introduced quarantine-leave.

On a post on Facebook, the Union expressed its outrage to this fact, especially since employees working in other government entities will benefit from quarantine-leave. The Union noted that these allegations were confirmed by the Force’s administration.

The POU has demanded that members of the Police Force should be given the same rights as other front liners, and that this should be addressed as soon as possible.
