The activist group Occupy Justice, reiterated their call for the Attorney General to resign following his refusal to publish the report. Earlier on Wednesday the AG refused to provide the Opposition Leader Adrian Delia with a copy of the Egrant Inquiry.
In a statement Occupy Justice criticized Delia for rushing to conclusions before acquiring a copy of the full report and claimed that “Malta is fast becoming a one-party state – where the two political parties are morphing into one”.
The activists in their statement deplored the AG’s decision to refuse to publish the Egrant Inquiry in full. They reiterated that it shows lack of transparency and independence of the institutions. Occupy Justice said that for justice to be seen to be done, the report should be available for public scrutiny.
