The authorities caught no one congregating in groups of four or more people in public over the past two days, according to the government’s latest Covid-19 bulletin.

Moreover, no one was found breaking obligatory quarantine during 1,162 inspections carried out in the same period.

Over 1,500 have been fined €100 for defying restrictions on the size of groups in public places, introduced to limit the spread of Covid-19. Initially, the maximum group size was set at three, but was increased to four earlier this month.

The restrictions will be eased further on Friday, with the number of persons who can gather together in public increased to six.

26 new cases of Covid-19 have been identified in the last two days, of which 16 were asymptomatic. The number of active cases, which had declined sharply in recent weeks, has now crept up to 113.
