A Planning Authority spokesperson said that there is no need for a development permit in order to take down trees.
He was answering Newsbook.com.mt‘s questions after a video surfaced of an elderly couple uprooting a carob tree from their home. The spokesperson said that in these cases an ERA permit is needed.
He said that this particular permit is needed if the tree in question is protected by law.
Newsbook.com.mt is awaiting answers from ERA on the matter.
