No Maltese injured in earthquake affecting Greece, Turkey

No Maltese were injured in an earthquake that affected Turkey and Greece.

The Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs said this in a statement, expressing its solidarity with the two countries. The scale 7 earthquake shook the city of Izmir in Turkey as well as some Greek islands in the Aegean Sea.

It stated that it is following developments, and immediately sought to make contact with Maltese in the affected regions. However, it seems that no Maltese were injured due to this earthquake.

The Ministry thanked the relevant authorities for their immediate response to protect all those affected. It also said that anyone who needs help can contact the Ministry via email on sitcen@gov.mt or on the numbers 21042200/21242191.
