Nigerian Archbishop to speak on religious freedom in Malta

An Archbishop from West Africa will be the keynote speaker at the launch of the Religious Freedom Report organised by the Aid to the Church in Need.

H.G Mgr Ignatius Kaigama, is the Catholic Archbishop of Jos, Nigeria and President of the Regional Episcopal Conference of West Africa.

Kaigama’s 37 years of Pastoral Ministry as a Priest, and 23 years as a Bishop, he has always worked in conflict areas. He has an experiential encounter of religious crises considering that his people have directly suffered attacks and he has been at the forefront of inter-religious dialogue in Nigeria.

The Archbishop’s interreligious work also includes being a founding member of Nigeria’s Inter-Faith Activity & Partnership for Peace (IFAPP) dedicated to providing a credible platform for dialogue between people of different faiths, including efforts to stem the tension between Christians and Muslims and strategies for combating the Boko Haram challenge.

Kaigama will be at the ACN’s launch event at San Anton Palace on 24th November.
