New services will be on offer at the Żebbug District Clinic. These include a nutritionist, dietitian and lifestyle services in the coming weeks.
Health Minister Chris Fearne said that these three new services on offer are essential in preventing conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure.
The district clinic currently offers the service of a GP and a nurse three times a week to some 270 people monthly. It also offers speech and language pathology services from Monday to Friday to some 100 patients monthly.
The district clinic has been recently refurbished. Zebbug Mayor Sarah Agius and the Chief Executive Officer of Primary healthcare Rosanne Camilleri.
The Zebbug district clinic is one of 54 such clinics around Malta and Gozo. Some of which now fall under the responsibility of their respective local council. It is estimated that around 210,000 patients make use of such district clinics annually.
