Tista' taqra bil- Malti.
Malta’s Summer Carnival will be taking place between the 30th of August and the 1st of September. This was postponed due to a tragic death of a carnival enthusiast, Jean Paul Bonett.
Jean Paul lost his life from an electric shock in a warehouse used for carnival works on the 22nd of August.
The Ministry for Culture and Local Government together with Festivals Malta expressed their sorrow, and stated that since it was well-known that Jean Paul was a carnival enthusiast, all activities related to the Carnival were to be cancelled.
However, after consulting with carnival enthusiasts, it was announced that the Summer Carnival will be starting on Friday 30th August at Saint Paul’s Bay, at 7.30pm. It will then continue on Saturday 31st August where it will be taking place in Birżebbuġa. On Sunday, the Carnival will travel to Marsaskala, which will be joined by the Saint Anne’s musical band.
This year’s carnival will also include a collaboration between students from the University of Malta and MCAST, whose students will be producing artistic illustrations of Malta’s Summer Carnival.
