Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and Health Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Chris Fearne inaugurated new technology in the Cardiology Department in Mater Dei Hospital. This new investment totals to around one million euro.

Mr Fearne spoke about the introduction of a Cardiac MRI, saying that only a few centres in the world have one like it. He said that up until a short while ago, around 20 patients a year were being sent abroad for the service, and today there are around 25 cases a month being seen at Mater Dei.

The National Development and Social Fund financed this investment.
