A new piece of art by anonymous England-based artist Banksy shows a boy playing with a nurse superhero toy, while figures of Batman and Spider-Man lie in a waste paper basket.
The mainly-monochrome painting, which is one square metre, was unveiled at University Hospital in Southampton.
The artist left a note for hospital workers, which read: “Thanks for all you’re doing. I hope this brightens the place up a bit, even if its only black and white.”
The painting, which is entitled ‘Game Changer’, will remain at the hospital until the autumn when it will be auctioned to raise money for the NHS.
National Nurses Week begins each year on the 6th May and ends on the 12th May, Florence Nightingale’s birthday.
