As a result of COVID-19, the number of people who have died globally has nearly reached the one million mark, said the World Health Organization.
It has been nine months since the disease first emerged in Wuhan, China.
Experts from the World Health Organization, WHO, said that preventing another million from dying from coronavirus will only be possible if countries use all the tools available. This includes social distancing measures, mass testing and contact tracing.
WHO said that if countries fail to prevent coronavirus transmission there could be another one million dead.
This warning comes after a rise in cases and hospitalisations in several European countries where protests against new measures are increasing efforts to contain a second wave of the outbreak.
