Malta Union of Teachers has answered to criticism and comments made in their regards to the two-day industrial action. The union published various comments addressed towards their action.

In their replies MUT reaffirmed that the union will always ask for assurance from the authorities for the safeguard of children, educators, and parents.

The union said that they are still following the situation closely with the Health Authorities. The industrial action intention was to slow the Covid-19 spread said MUT. This includes safeguarding our children’s health. Their parents and their families.

The union reiterated that they are ready to take further actions if the situation deteriorates.

MUT had called for a two-day strike on Wednesday evening. The action was taken after the government swept aside suggestions to switch classes to online so that the Covid-19 spread could be controlled.
