‘Muscat wants to stay on to protect criminals,’ – National Book Council Chairman

National Book Council Chairman Mark Camilleri said that the only reason why Prime Minister Joseph Muscat delayed his resignation is to hinder the course of justice and continue protecting his ‘criminal’ friends, thereby ensuring that the next Partit Laburista leader would continue to protect the mafia.

Describing Muscat as the mafia’s patron, Camilleri stated that he is no longer a Prime Minister. Referring to Muscat’s video message aired on TVM on Sunday, Camilleri observed that Muscat warned the people not to cause any disorder in the country.

“No leader is greater than Partit Laburista – not even Dom Mintoff himself, because he ended up discredited by his own party,” Camilleri said.

Camilleri observed that the situation is ‘really serious’ where people who do not know how to read and write properly cannot understand that there is a lot of evidence of corruption involving Yorgen Fenech and Keith Schembri. He added that this is raising a lot of suspicion that these two plotted the murder of the journalist.

“By remaining in power, instead of resigning, Muscat is sending out an explicit message that he will stay on as Prime Minister so that he can continue hindering justice and so that he can keep on defending his best friend Keith Schembri,” Camilleri wrote on Facebook.
