MUMN calling for a protest if parking issue is not solved

The Malta Union of Midwives and Nurses (MUMN) said that a number of nurses, midwives, physiotherapists and ECG technicians have reported the receipt of senseless parking tickets and are being ignored.

In the past weeks the contractor in charge of the parking facilities at the hospital has changed and according to the MUMN the parking situation changed to the worse as currently persons that are not authoirised to park in designated places are doing so without any control. The MUMN explained how hospital employees have to be on the premises 90 minutes before the start of their shift to secure a parking spot whilst the parking contractor issuing haphazard fines without informing anyone that any rules have changed.

The MUMN is asking the Authorities and the hospital administration to take care of the matter urgently else they will be forced to organise a public protest on the hospital premises to “deliver their message in a direct way”.

In August Mater Dei Hospital employees were asked to pay €2 for parking.
