Milied fil-Misraħ is being held in Mqabba from the 29th November until the 1st December, with proceeds going towards Puttinu Cares.
On Friday 29th November, a karaoke battle night will take place, where representatives of Puttinu Cares will compete against Santa Marija Mqabba Youth Section. The event will begin at around 7.00 pm and will last until 11.00 pm. Food will be served all night and there will also be a bouncy castle for children (free admission on this day only).
On Saturday 30th November, there will be a Christmas Village with shows starting at 6.30 pm and ending at 11.30 pm. A number of singers and dancers will take part in this event – Gulia Vella Micallef, Leanne and Kelsey Carabott, Freestyle Dancers, Mariah Briffa, Teo Zammit, Mariah, Ben Purplle, Joe Demicoli, Marija Dijnovic and Sterjo Tipi.
There will also be a children’s area with a bouncy castle, fun bus, photo booth and Santa’s room, as well as a food court .
The event on Sunday 1st December opens with a bike ride, in collaboration with Bikers for Charity. The bike ride will start from Wied il-Ghajn, Triq il-Gardiel and finish at Misrah il-Fidwa, Mqabba. An ambulance will be present throughout.
Shows on the stage will start from 9.30 am till 4.30 pm with the Freestyle Dancers, Santa Marija Youth Band, Eleanor Cassar, Mariah Spiteri, Mariah Briffa, Hypnotic Dancers, Keith Dance Studios, Claudine Zahra, Lara Galea and Megan Caruana.
There will be a police dog show by the K9 Unit in the morning. At 2.15 pm a ‘strongman’ show will be held by Tony Farrugia and Mr Cool, while at 3.30pm, there will be a show by Pro-Wrestling Malta
A train ride will operate both on Saturday and Sunday which will go around Mqabba’s historical sites which will be transformed into a live crib. The train will be operating every hour. Pre-booking for the ride is advisable.
