According to figures from the National Statistics Office, there has been a 7.2% increase in the number of women in full time employment since June last year.
The NSO pinpoints the increase among the employment sectors of Human Health and Social work, Education, Public Administration and the Professional Scientific and technical.
There was also an increase in the number of women in the Financial and Insurance services. According to the figures, there has been just over an 8% increase in the number of women working in this professional area.
In terms of the Gender Pay Gap, the NSO last reported in April that the salary gap between women and men in this sector was around 28%, the highest difference recorded across women in employment in Malta.
