Gozo’s main roundabouts are expected to be decorated at least until the end of this year.
Over the past months, the Ministry for Gozo was working to create several decorations for various occasions and were installed in Gozo’s main roundabouts. This was done to recall various holidays such as Easter, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.
These decorations were also assembled to deliver a message, including what appears in the above picture, a message against drug use.
Newsbook.com.mt asked the Ministry for Gozo to publish the details about these decorations. In his response, a spokesman for the Minister for Gozo Justyne Caruana, confirmed that different decorations will be assambled until the end of this year, because in his words Gozo is “experiencing a message and we are effective”.
He said that the work is being done by Ministry workers and people with special needs who attend Santa Martha Centre. He explained that the materials being used in these decorations are mostly recycled materials.
It was also explained that the purpose behind this initiative is to mark or raise interest and awareness on various events or particular subjects.
In addition, Newsbook.com.mt asked several other questions, however, the Ministry for Gozo has not replied to the following:
- How many different fittings were made until now?
- For which occasions were they made?
- Where are they being fitted?
- What are the specific locations?
- What is the estimated cost of these decorations?
- Who authorised these expenses?
- What will be done during the rest of the year?
What do you think about these roundabout decorations? What would you like to see in Gozo?
