Minister for Gozo trusts the Gozo air-ambulance

Minister for Gozo Justyne Caruana stated with Newsbook.com.mt that she trust the air ambulance service provided by Steward Healthcare which is currently being probed following a formal request from Minister Chris Fearne.  She said that out of discretion one should wait for the outcome of the inquest before making speculative comments and that she should have the choice whether to be comment or not before the result of the inquest because she is the Minister for Gozo and responsible for issues related to Gozo.

It had been reported that on the 24th August the Steward Healthcare air ambulance was not operative and a patient in a critical condition admitted at the Gozo General Hospital in the morning had to wait for a number of hours at the Gozo General Hospital CCU before finally being transferred to Mater Dei Hospital at 4:30pm. This was also confirmed to Newsbook.com.mt by Health professionals.

In Parliament, Minister Caruana had failed to answers questions related to the hospital and education in Gozo on a number of occasions and had referred the questions to “the Ministers concerned”.
