MDA calls for tougher penalties aimed to protect natural heritage

The Malta Developers Association, MDA has called for more resources and tougher penalties to be put in place to give maximum importance to natural heritage.

The MDA, in a statement, referred to the multiple spray-painted arrows at the Majjistral Park and other areas which following an investigation by the Police and the Environment Resources Authority, ERA, it was concluded that a French event organiser had sparyed the arrows on the ground.

The event organiser, which is a French organisation, has been instructed to remove all its signs by Friday night.

MDA which has described the markings as shocking environmental damage said that this latest example of immediate action shows how collaboration and cooperation yield results.

The French event organiser is set to be arraigned in court today.
