MCAST insists judicial protest on its engineering courses is unjustified

The Malta College for Arts, Science and Technology has strongly objected to a judicial protest filed by the Chamber of Engineers concerning a number of courses related to the engineering profession, insisting that everything was in order.

The chamber had insisted that MCAST had published courses in engineering which breached an agreement with the Engineering Profession Board.

But MCAST, which emphasised that the judicial protest was filed just two days before the elections of the board, said that the chamber was well aware that MCAST was working with the board on the provision of engineering course.

“MCAST’s courses are open to rigorous audits by the Engineering Board and currently, a German audit firm has been assigned to oversee its programmes. The Chamber of Engineers is involved throughout this entire process,” the college said.

It added that it will “continue to strive towards collaboration with all stakeholders while ensuring that its inclusive course offer leads to professions relevant to today’s industry needs.”
