Mater Dei workers asked to pay for their parking

Clerical and security working at Mater Dei Hospital are not be valued as other workers doing the same job. This was said at the Workers Solidarity movement, organised by the PN during a demonstration of solidarity with these workers.

According to the movement, the future of these workers is under threat because the current contractor could be replaced by another one and they were informed they will have to start paying to park in the hospital parking.

So far, workers have parking without paying but this has now charged to €47 a month or €564 a year just for parking.

The movement is asking the Government why these workers are not being valued as the rest and why they were not informed in advance of this change.

Due to this, these workers and their families will have to bear the extra costs.
