Mater Dei acute hospital has been the target of scammers who are offering the gullible ‘study opportunities’ at the Malta Foundation School.
The Chief Executive of Mater Dei, Ivan Falzon and the Head of the Malta Postgraduate Medical Training Programme Raymond Galea issued a statement warning of a letter which was meant as a scam. The letter requests advance payment for courses and training allegedly offered by the medical school in Mater Dei. The letter requests payment to the tune of €1,675 by the 22nd October 2019. A further €1,000 monthly would be deducted from the stipend.
Falzon and Galea disassociated the institutions they represent from the content of the letter and the matter has been handed over to the police.
