Marsamxett fight leaves 2 youths injured

Two young men were injured, one of them grievously, in an argument which broke out in Marsamxett on Friday night.

The two, who are aged 20 and 21 and who hail from Mtarfa, entered the Valletta police station at 11.30pm, stating that they had been injured in an argument which broke out in Triq il-Lanċa. One of them was reportedly stabbed during the incident.

They were taken to the Floriana health centre for treatment, where the 20-year-old was found to have sustained grievous injuries. The other youth’s injuries were certified as slight.

Two young Syrian men, a 20-year-old Marsa resident and a 19-year-old who lives in Floriana, have been held for questioning.

Police investigations are ongoing.
