Manchester City are set to compete with Bayern Munich and Real Madrid for the signature of French defender Benjamin Pavard from Stuttgart.
The 22-year-old is a versatile player, who can play at right-back or at the heart of the defence, is viewed as Vincent Kompany’s replacement.
Pavard has been one of France’s best performers at the World Cup and his wonderful shot against Argentina is a contender for goal of the tournament. He has made 57 appearances for the Stuttgart since leaving Lille in 2016 and the Bundesliga side are keen to keep him in their team for at least one more season.
