Man with fever escorted off Gozo Channel

Tista' taqra bil- Malti.

A foreign man was escorted off the Gozo Channel ferry by the Police as he had a fever.

In a press release, the Gozo Ministry and the Ministry for National Security said that during thermal screening being carried out on a Gozo Channel ferry, a foreign man was found to have fever.

Even though he was asked not to board the ferry, he went on it anyway. This led to the Police having to escort him off the ferry themselves.

A special unit has been tasked with fumicating and disinfecting the passenger terminal of the ferry and the car terminal as well, as there were cars that had already boarded.

The man was taken by ambulance.

The Government reiterated that people who try to defy the law and the instructions given will not be tolerated in any way.

Yesterday Minister Clint Camilleri urged the Maltese and Gozitans not to cross between the two islands unless it’s for work, for medical reasons or for supply chain services.
