A 39-year-old man was jailed six months over possession of cannabis.
Kinteh Bakary from Gambia and who resides at St Paul’s Bay was caught with cannabis on 26 August 2019 at around 10.30am.
The man was charged with being in possession of the whole or any portion of the plant cannabis.
During a court sitting on Thursday, the accused admitted being in possession of cannabis.
The Court sentenced the man to six months imprisonment and fined him €500. He was also ordered to pay €855.50 in court expenses within six months.
The Court also ordered the destruction of the drugs seized.
Magistrate Doreen Clarke presided over the court, Police Inspector Godwin Scerri led the prosecution.
