A 56-year-old Meliieħa resident was admitted to the Gozo General Hospital, suffering from grievous injuries after an argument on board the Gozo ferry.

The man was involved in an argument with a 33-year-old man from the Netherlands, residing in Luqa who was arrested by the police following the incident.

The incident took place on Tuesday around 6pm.

So far there was no clear indication on the motivation of this argument, however in the past weeks, there were a number of reports of arguments on board the Gozo Channel ferries due to the lack of use of masks by a number of passengers.

Police investigations are ongoing.
