Man given suspended sentence over Paceville stabbing


A man was handed a two-year jail term suspended for three after a Paceville stabbing. Mohammed Misrati, Libyan, 26 resident in Swieqi admitted to stabbing two people with a knife during an argument in Paceville on 16 August. Misrati has also been residing in Malta illegally for over a week.

The incident happened in Dragonara Street in Paceville where a 38-year old from Ivory Coat and 32-year old Libyan residing in Gżira.

The court heard how he knew one of the victims over Facebook.

Misrati was arrested and arraigned on the same day as the incident, when he had pleaded not guilty.
