A 72-year-old man died at Mater Dei Hospital on Sunday following injuries suffered during a road accident last week.
Anthony Zarb was run over by a car in Triq Wileġ last Sunday at around 7.30 pm.
Zarb was very active in the local and international football scene. The Malta Football Association expressed its sadness in a statement, and gave its condolences to the family, relatives and friends of the man.
Zarb served as a manager at the National Stadium in Ta’ Qali. The MFA said Zarb was very dedicated to his work and was well respected by everyone involved in football.
Zarb also served on the Sirens FC’s committee. He had also assisted Nadur Youngsters.
A magisterial inquiry was opened on the incident.
