Man charged with harassing woman in Gozo

A 40-year-old man from Victoria was charged with harassing a 22-year-old woman.

The man was arraigned in a court in Gozo and was charged with harassment, threatening her via mobile and making her fear that she will be subjected to violence.

He was also accused of stealing the victim’s mobile from a shop on Republic Street in Victoria.

In a court presided over by Magistrate Paul Coppini, the man pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him. He was released on bail subject to conditions imposed by the court.

A protection order was issued in favour of the victim.

The prosecution was led by Police Inspectors Josef Gauci and Bernard Spiteri.
