Man charged with grievously injuring a person while drunk in Marsalforn

A youth was arraigned in Court in Gozo after he grievously injured a person while drunk.

The 22-year-old Somali national residing in Żebbuġ, Gozo was accused of disturbing the peace during the night time, of being intoxicated in public and of not being able to care for himself. He was also accused of relapsing.

The incident took place on 10 December in an establishment in Triq il-Port, Marsalforn, Gozo.

The man pleaded not guilty and he was granted bail with the court imposing a number of conditions on him.

The court was presided over by Joanne Vella Cuschieri.

The prosecution was led by Police Inspector Bernard Charles Spiteri.
