Maltese photographer wins international prize for Daphne vigil photo

A photo taken by Maltese photographer Darrin Zammit Lupi during a vigil for assassinated journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia won an international prize, along with five other photos.

The photo, called Justice for Daphne, shows a portrait of the fallen journalist lifted high among flashing mobile phone torches during a vigil to her memory.

On their Facebook page, the Allard Prize for International Integrity said that the six winning photos all reflect the theme of courage and leadership in the face of corruption, as well as the promotion of human rights.
