Maltese in Ireland – A celebratory atmosphere is awaiting Pope Francis
Aid to the Church in Need Malta (ACN) Director Stephen Axisa told Newsbook.com.mt that there is a celebratory atmosphere in Ireland. He is currently in Ireland waiting for Pope Francis to start his Irish Pastoral visit this weekend after four days of activities for the families.
Axisa explained that even though Irish society has changed considerably since the last Pastoral visit over 40 years ago. The activities leading to the Pope’s visit has already attracted a large amount of persons from all walks of life and everyone is eager for the Pope to arrive.
In Ireland ACN had mass with an Austrian Cardinal and had the opportunity to listen to a number of speakers from different countries. Axisa himself has been waiting eagerly for this Papal visit as it helps solidify the importance of the family.
Pope Francis will be presiding at the World Meeting of Families in Croke Park Dublin on Saturday.
