Maltese altar boys tell Pope Francis of episcopal ordination

Pope Francis has met up with a group of Maltese and Gozitan altar boys, who are currently serving in St.Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican.

The group is made up of 14 altar boys from Malta’s diocese and 6 from Gozo’s diocese. They are currently in Italy with Fr Frans Bonnici, Fr Mark Ellul and Joseph Bajada who is a Gozitan seminarist.

The Pope asked about the Maltese bishops and was pleased to hear how Mgr Joe Galea-Curmi’s episcopal ordination was held last night.

The Pope then asked the boys to keep him in their prayers, and gave them a Rosary each. He concluded the meeting with a Hail Mary, and then blessed them and their families.
